Quality Early Childcare is important because the current cost of living requires most parents to work full time to support their children. In the past, parents may have looked to their own parents for trusted childcare. However, more people are working into the later years of their lives and are unable to care for their grandchildren.

In general, families are smaller than they previously were because people have fewer children. As a result, there are fewer extended family members to contribute to the care of children, and women (the primary caretakers)can no longer afford the option to stay at home with their children. They must work instead.

There are also many poor single mothers who lack the education and life experience to teach their children much of the information they need for proper development. These women often need public assistance to meet their basic needs, and desperately need affordable, quality childcare while they find work and/or attend school.

Early childhood education gives children from low income families many of the social skills and foundational knowledge they will need to develop and do well later in life. It is certainly no secret that getting a good education helps lead to better decision making in terms of one's health, family planning, and career. Quality early childcare is important in that it can provide opportunities to children that will help them break some of the cycles of extreme poverty within their families.

I believe that the way you start is the way you finish. If you start with quality early childhood education, you will get quality -end-results. Early childhood education is as the foundation of a building. If the foundation is strong, the building with stand strong and resists strong winds and thunderstorms. If the foundation is weak and is not composed of quality materials the building will sink into the soil on which it stands. So it goes with early childhood education.

We all know there is no shortage of childcare, infant care, and early childhood education centers; however quality early childcare programs are few and far in between. With the changing landscape and needs of families, for many, childcare is no longer optional it is a necessity. An expensive necessity. And in our money driven society often times the quality of the childcare program is directly tied to the income level of the surrounding community. This is a contributing factor to some of the inequities in childcare. That being said, every child, whether from the richest or poorest areas deserves to have a high quality early childhood education.

Quality early childcare provides children with a stable foundation for learning, development, and socialization that will follow them the rest of their school careers.

It is important because it opens the path for further success in a child's educational career. The better experience they have at an early age the better their outlook will be towards their desire to learn, explore, observe, and grow in their educational experiences.

It is very important but will only function when children have positive and nurturing experiences at home too. Parents are their child's first teachers and when children go to childcare with positive experiences they tend to be more open to learning and developing more skills easier than those that have negative experiences at home. Positive experiences include holding conversations with them daily, reading books together, allowing them to do things for themselves, and taking into consideration their ideas and questions no matter how small or naive they may seem. Giving them this sense of responsibility to explore things in their world will only make their curiosity and creativity grow through the experiences they will gain in quality early childcare. Studies have shown that children who experience quality childcare are at a better position of succeeding in their career and life.

I feel that Quality Early Child Care is important because, we as teachers are the next important role model and provider for the child. The parent is considered the child's first teacher. It is important for the child to build trust in the teacher and for the parents to feel comfortable in leaving their child in our care. Quality Early Childcare helps the children in all areas of development such as: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language. As teachers it is important that we understand that every child is unique and develops at different levels. Through observations and assessment, we can provide activities to scaffold each child's learning. In addition, I feel that providing "Best Practie and Developmentally Appropriate Activities" also plays a major part of quality childcare. Often parents need to enroll their child in a program in order to go to work. They don't take into consideration the type of program and/or what the program has to offer in terms of being beneficial to the child. However, it puts a smile on my face when a child returns to the program and share their success story of being on the honor role, graduating from grammer school or attending college.

Early childhood education is the foundation for future learning. It is extremely critical for at risk children who's family situation and challenges already put them at risk for educational difficulty. Quality Early ChildCare is important as it provides a safe, nurturing, educational setting for children while their parents are at work or school. It minimizes risk of children being left in an unsafe environments. It provides structure and consistency for children that enables their positive social-emotional development.

Dear Marsha. Having a quality early childcare is very important. 1)It provides a safe place for the many children that we work with. 2) The parents trust their childs most valuable gift, which is their child. 2) The parents know that we have an educational background. How can parents know about our educational background? Parents, now days ask lots and lots of questions and they not necessarely rely on our answers. Parents, now days go directly to the director. I do not blame the parents for wanting to know, our educationa background. It is the daycare director responsability to sand teachers to get a higher education. In doing so,we will have a high quality early childcare center.
